Need Help with Word Perfect X4 -- Equations Need Help with Word Perfect X4 -- Equations

Hi Everyone:

I need some help with Word Perfect X4 which we use in our company for our book publishing.

I have a file with lots of equations. But whenever I reopen the file and click on an equation box, it will change size. Sometimes getting bigger and sometimes smaller. This usually only occurs the first time I click on a box after reopening the file. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it.

Thanks,
Mason

Which product version you've got exactly?

Are you using any perfectsrcipt macros?

Did you ever took a look at LaTex which is used in the scientific community for typesetting? Poker literature with all its equations belongs there, kind of.

Hi wellju:

The product version is 14.0.0.756.

For your other two questions the answer is no.

Best wishes,
Mason

sry, this is slightly off-topic, too (yeah i realize you're in a business environment and you won't switch that easily...)

but, from a long-term perspective, i think you're much better off using latex (a reasonable setup on windows is miktex+winedt+ghostscript).

as for your actual problem, no real clue. i haven't used wordperfect in 8 years or so. as a novice to wordperfect, i would probably try to see if the problem goes away in openoffice (which can open but not save wordperfect files). otoh, only other idea is to try if adding mathtype to wordperfect does any good.

I had an issue with an floating box once, not an equation, and worked around it by putting a set width and height to it. Typesetting command for horizontal advance 0,45 rel, the width of the box.
