I haven't gotten a desktop in 10 years and wanted to be sure I was getting one that could more than do what I need it to do. I play poker full time, use Holdem Manager, NoteCaddy and NoteCaddy Edge, play on 4 sites and use a bunch of other software like Stack and Tile, TableNinja and 888 Caption. I would like to connect it to my 2560x1600 monitor using DVI.
Here are the 3 I was looking at buying. Any advice about components, savings, price increases etc is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the response! The xeon processor in the 2nd one did pretty well according to cpubenchmark, any reason you don't think it works well? Thats a workstation. I can upgrade the components for still less than the first computer Should I go for a workstation, since I play 40 hours a week and often for long stretches at a time? I tend to wear out my laptops within a year or so... I'm happy to pay whatever is necessary to get what I need so that it works very well.
What specs do you think I need that are between $1500 and $2500 and will work perfectly with all all the relevant software, a large HM2 Database and NC Predator? I basically want it to work perfectly and not worry about it for 1.5-2 years at least.
It's tough to adequately cool a laptop with how you're using it which leads to the frying imo. That falcon desktop would be very nice but it doesn't look like you have an option for an extra SSD. I am up to 3 SSD in my PC now
#1 for windows/programs
2 for postgres
3 swap files and data
My computer is 5 years old but everything is fast af
Maybe you can call them and get another SSD as the additional rather than the HDD
