First, I love Firefox, so.
Second, lately Firefox has randomly been bouncing up and down. Not bouncing around websites, or anything like that, but the screen is literally bouncing up and down.

I'm on a Mac, and I uninstalled Firefox completely. Re-downloaded it, and it solved the problem for a few weeks but now it's back.

Happens like 1/10 times I open my browser, so not always.
And there's nothing to see to search or anything, it just bounces and I get the spinning pin-wheel and have to basically restart my Mac.

Anyone experience this?

There used to be a bug in Firefox that caused this in certain circumstances (empty bookmarks bar, I think). But that was fixed ages ago.

So...

1. have you updated FF to the very latest version?

2. have you updated your graphics driver?

3. have you tried new input devices? This could be a b0rked keyboard or mouse.

Also, I suppose:

4. are you leaning on your Tab key, spacebar, touchpad or similar?

Lately when it happens it says something like playthings(?) script is taking too long to load.
Wait, stop script, or debug script comes up.

FF is up to date
I have no idea about the graphics driver
My keyboard and mouse are newer, bluetooth

I mean, when it happens I just have to force quit and restart Mac. It's not a HUGE deal, just real annoying.

Have you tried changing your home page? the message could be a bad javascript on your home page (assuming you have it set to open to your home page, not last visited.
