Hi,

I just ordered another 24 samsung from FT but I dont know how to hook up 2 monitors to my laptop??

First, I called GeekSquad at BestBuy, and Agent Frank had no idea what to do becaues he is a clown and not the geek I needed.

I have a Dell M1330 w/ 4gb ram and all the other max options.

What cords, products, connectors, or anything else do I need?

Poolside -

With that laptop I do believe you can use the VGA and HDMI to have a "dual" monitor setup.

You would need a montior with an HDMI connection of course to take advantage of that.

It looks like video over usb via a converter is also an option but there are pretty bad reviews on using USB Video on this laptop.

If you use the VGA and HDMI you will technically have 3 monitors with the laptop monitor itself.

If you tried to split the VGA you wouldn't really have 2 unique monitors but 2 monitors that display the same desktop.

so i'm going to try the 2 outputs on my laptop:

1 monitor from the VGA

1 from the HDMI

hopefully the laptop can extend the desktop to the 2 monitors.

or have other input?

I don't know how it will work with your laptop, but with my laptop, i can hook up 2 monitors (1 VGA, 1 HDMI) and under my video card options it will only let me choose 2 of the monitors (Laptop+Monitor1, Laptop+Monitor2,or Monitor1+Monitor2). Your laptop may be able to support all 3, i dont know. Just giving you some info on my experience.

Yep. That's what i use.

It works well if you have a spare hdmi cable and don't want to buy a separate hdmi to dvi cable. That website also has hdmi to dvi cables for only $5-10. Very cheap.

definitely not the only option lol. He can plug one into VGA and one into HDMI and close the lid of his computer, and use the 2 external monitors. The laptop won't be able to run all 3, but there is no need to buy a 200$ external video solution...

I have an external video card from a USB port that works fairly well. I haven't had a poker problem with it, but streaming video gives me issues. If you go that route buy the Triton and not an off brand.
