Microsoft Excel Help

Hello can anyone help me figure out how to enter data into excel/open office in a row with the following format so I do not have to do it manually.

A:1 11K01
B:1 11K01
C:1 11K02
D:1 11K02
E:1 11K03
ETC...

Basically Im trying to enter pairs going across the row.

Re: Microsoft Excel Help

apparantly this is not possible according to a senior support engineer at Microsoft so my next question is I'm looking to select every other column in row 34 only, copying that and pasting it. What is the wording i need to enter in the conditional formatting portion for row 34

Re: Microsoft Excel Help

it's simple. Enter 11k01 in the first two cells. Highlight/select both cells. Drag across, it will do a two-cell increment.

Re: Microsoft Excel Help

all this does if im not mistaken is repeat 11k01. It works if you have spaces between 11k01 and 11k02 but not if you try to duplicate them

Re: Microsoft Excel Help

ahh **** it's just copying. you might want to use the concatenate function. Format as "special", 2 digits, and do as I suggested aboove. then make a separate row with alpha characters and concatenate.

Re: Microsoft Excel Help

Type in what you want in cell A1 (for example 11K01) click on the cell then in the bottom right corner of the cell there will be a small black square, click and drag down as many cells as you want and it will automatically do this in order. Works 100% as I've just checked it to make sure + I've got top grades in excel programming 2 months ago in college

Basically what you have to do is similar to what zoltan said, write 11K01 in cell A1 and select it then drag down but not from the center of the cell but from the bottom right corner

I know about this trick but i want in cell a1 11k01 cell b1 11k01 c1 11k02 d1 11k02 e1 11k03 etc basically pairs of data. This makes copying what you suggested and pasting it not likely either although i did try to use kutools to highlight every over cell in a column but that did not work either
