Re: laptop won't boot. can't reinstall. Windows discs won't load
Ok I put in the Windows installation CD again after running tons of tests. It says something about not having the driver installed. Therefore I put in my Dell media CD for reinstalling the drivers already installed. One driver pops up first, ATI ahci compatible RAID controller (d...i386..r155749...Ahcix86s.inf) ...easier than:\ on a phone to type.
Then it loads, I refresh drivers and Ati raid console pops up. Same extensions. I load that.
Next screen asks where I want to install Windows
Disk 0, partion 1 62Mb, 55 free, oem reserved
Disk 1 partition 2, 10GB, 5.7 free, primary
Partition 3, 136.5GB, 136.4GB free, system. I just formatted that thinking it would help. didn't
Partition 4, mediadirect 2.5GB, 940 mb free, logical
I select each one and for each one it says Windows cannot be installed on disc x, partition y. That's why I formatted partition 3.should I delete them? That's an option.
