Laptop can't get internet on my local coffee shop's Wi-Fi

It's a secured network, I can connect via my phone & other people have no problem connecting. My laptop 'connects' but I can't get any data, Windows says 'Connected, no internet'. What is going on & how do I fix this? I've reset the PC, turned wireless on and off & run troubleshooting, all with no luck.

Lots of coffee shops make you agree to their terms of service before you're allowed to use the internet.

Try browsing to a website -- usually it will redirect you to the ToS page.

next time ur there try this

(the automatic troubleshooter is meant to do it)

open command prompt admin

type

ipconfig /release

then

ipconfig /renew

if no joy try

ipconfig /flushdns

(after each ipconfig theres a space.)

also u have tested ur laptop at other locations/connections and it works yes?

what Operating system is laptop

Have tried laptop at other locations & it works fine although I've had problems with laptops that don't connect at random places before. Using the latest version of Windows.

if the above doesnt work try this

in bottom right corner click ur wifi connection at bottom of pop up window click network settings
click manage wifi settings

click manage known networks

click on the cafe one and click forget.

then try connect again

A few more suggestions, download your wifi driver from your manufacturer and then use device manager to remove the current driver and check the option to delete the driver at the prompt.

If you can USB boot to Linux and try connecting to wifi see if that has different results.

Check your system log for network related events and errors

Update: back for the first time & internet now works! Not sure if it is something on their end or mine (Windows update in the interim). Thanks all for your help!
