If you have a 64 gig Crucial SSD drive, read this.

http://hothardware.com/News/Crucial-...in-MidJanuary/

After 5200 hours, the drive will start stalling, causing windows to crash/reboot every hour. Took me 2 days to figure this out, drove me absolutely wild.

The firmware flash is on the website, it takes 20 seconds to fix.

Hopefully it'll save one of you 2 days of going crazy.

That's not just the 64GB, it's the entire Crucial M4 line. I have a 256GB that I updated just before the 5k mark when they released the firmware a few months back. A new 128GB I got around the same time already had the newest firmware. Check the label on the drive or use a disk utility to make sure that you have firmware version 0309 or 000F.

Oh really? I thought it was just the 64 gig versions. Damn. I was really really worried because things were pointing towards the SSD having the issue, I was shocked that it would work perfectly for so long then just die like that, but S.M.A.R.T. was reporting the drive was 100% fine, so I thought that I needed a new SSD drive.

At that point, there was no way I was buying another HD if the first one died in 6 months. Thankfully I found the firmware flash and everything is back to normal.
