Re: hem on mac help

bumping this again to help me decide what windows os to use. i am thinking a like xp the best but idk if it's a good idea.

i see some good deals for used copies on ebay. any reason i shouldn't buy a used copy? should i def get 64 over 32 when 32 is quite a bit cheaper and i'm only using like 2 gigs of ram?

do you know how old XP is? I believe MS has stopped supporting it. Just get Win7

Nothing wrong with XP and it's certainly good enough for the US secret service

correction to my previous post, MSFT has extended XP support to 2014. I still recommend Win7 if you have fairly current hardware.

Relatively speaking os x is still a fairly small market. For a nichey small developer to spend time and resources developing for it could be seen as a waste. Conversely, if there is no good HUD for os x the first one to market would essentially be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Regarding parallels, your unibody MacBook should be fine to run XP or win 7 in a vm as long as you add RAM. Your machine maxes out at 8gb

Re: hem on mac help

I ended up getting a 17 in macbook pro with 8 gigs of ram for super cheap and setting up parallels on that.

My hud still doesn't work even though i just ported over my windows machine. I read something about how i have to partition the drive to get it to work???

Parallels doesn't need a partitioned drive.. It makes a virtual machine.

Re: hem on mac help

You should post in the hm support thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...-support-1535/

To look into this.

- What version of HM?

- What site?

- What type of game?
