Help with new laptop with minimum requirements

Hi guys, im going to Thailand for 1 month, i dont want to carry my desktop with me as im not staying any longer, im noob with computers so i need help with what configuration to look for when im buying as it will only be used for that month and then when i come back ill give it to my parents so they dont need anything special, they only surf the net. So what is minimum configuration that i need to look for so i can be able to fire up 15 tables, holdem manager, table ninja, skype, while listening some music over youtube or something at same time? tnx for help!

Re: Help with new laptop with minimum requirements

How are you going to play 15 tables, by stacking them or are you gonna take a monitor with you? This will also play an important role in determining how big it has to be.
From what I can tell so far you should atleast have 8GB RAM though. I'll answer the rest when you give me some feedback on how you plan on playing 15 tables, but as a small preview I can say that you'll probably want to go with a 1080p screen and that's about it really. Assuming your buying a new laptop, most CPU/GPU combos should be able to handle what you want to use it for.

I said 8 GB to be on the safe side, because that's what I've been using without problems, but yea if you use 4GB of RAM and have no issues with it then that's fine. I mean what are the specs of your desktop? If you have an older desktop, chances are you can just look for a laptop with similar specs and have it not be expensive.
Not really sure about advice on the size, you may not need a 1080p screen, which could make a decent difference in price. You could probably 15 table stacked with 1600x900 resolution and maybe even less.
Not sure where you are based, but sounds like you could get something for under 500$ or 300 pounds with 1600x900 or 1366x768 resolution. I'd probably look for atleast 1600x900 resolution though.

Re: Help with new laptop with minimum requirements

Im from East Europe, price isnt really the problem, just wanted to get one laptop with minimum requirements so i can use it for that month and then give it to my parents. So basicly only thing that i should look for is GB's for RAM and thats it, if that can handle it eveything else should be ok assuming im buying a new one?

Yea, pretty much. I mean maybe post whatever you plan on buying here just to be on the safe side, but any new notebook with 4GB RAM should be able to do what you described. I did try and look around for some models and basically you're looking to pay around 500€ for something in that range. I mean take this dv6 for example from German Amazon: http://www.amazon.de/Pavilion-dv6-6c...4786384&sr=8-3
It will set you back about 580, and it can very easily handle what you wanted to do with it, only potential problem is the 1366x768 resolution which, as I stated before, can not really comment on, because I don't have much experience with stacking tables.

edit:
I mean I understand your question, it's not really about price, but efficiency. But you really can't get that efficient with a new notebook, just get some entry level laptop with 4GB RAM and a screen size+resolution that you think will work for you.

PS.: What movie is your avatar from?
