Yea, pretty much. I mean maybe post whatever you plan on buying here just to be on the safe side, but any new notebook with 4GB RAM should be able to do what you described. I did try and look around for some models and basically you're looking to pay around 500€ for something in that range. I mean take this dv6 for example from German Amazon:

It will set you back about 580, and it can very easily handle what you wanted to do with it, only potential problem is the 1366x768 resolution which, as I stated before, can not really comment on, because I don't have much experience with stacking tables.

I mean I understand your question, it's not really about price, but efficiency. But you really can't get that efficient with a new notebook, just get some entry level laptop with 4GB RAM and a screen size+resolution that you think will work for you.
