external monitor for my laptop help needed.

hi,

i have a pretty new laptop but its only like a 15inch screen and i want to get a bigger monitor i can run off my laptop for when im grinding.

only problem is im pretty clueless when it comes to this sort of thing (not all 19yr olds are tech experts apparently) and dont have a clue what to look out for or even how it would particularly work.

so i think im looking for something around 19-21inch's

what do i need to look for resolution wise or anythign els it need to have ?

would i need a external mouse and keyboard too?

is there anything els i may need to consider (no matter how obvious it seems its very likely ive overlooked it)

thanks for any help it really is appreciated

cheers and gl all

Re: external monitor for my laptop help needed.

You don't need to look out for much. Just buy a monitor and plug it in. Once it's in the monitor will (usually, almost always) support higher resolutions than the laptops screen even using the laptops actual gfx card. Obviously if you buy an old crappy monitor that will limit resolution.

Also, some gfx card can't support decent resolutions but you should be fine with an Aspire.

You don't need an external keyboard or mouse. It just runs like a second monitor and u can usually extend the desktop etc
