excel macro - HTML formatting only appears in outlook? Any ideas? excel macro - HTML formatting only appears in outlook? Any ideas?

We've come across a situation that seems like it is too easy to not be solvable but... alas, we haven't solved it:

Any input?

I have an email body in excel that we use a macro to do a bunch of e-mailing to business partners. They each have their own "links" to g-docs etc. so we can't just e-mail them all the same thing. Hence we use excel to do the e-mail functionality. The only problem is basically: I'm able to paste it into excel in HTML form, but the HTML formatting only appears in Outlook but not Gmail (or mobile platforms)*

*keeping in mind that the HTML form in Outlook doesn't happen "by accident". The coding specifically does an HTML copy, for some reason it doesn't come through in Gmail.

Do you have any thoughts on how to get around this? Or if you'd approach the basic task of e-mailing a lot of people unique content differently entirely?

Thanks,

Harry

I don't have a particular suggestion, I'm afraid, but I'm pretty sure that with a little research you'd find software specifically designed to send bulk (yet unique) email in the way that you want (rather than hijacking Excel, which is designed for nothing of the sort).

That said, I suppose the formatting problem may be a Gmail issue rather than stemming from your use of Excel. Is there general guidance available on formatting html for Gmail that might help you?

In GMAIL, when you are composing an email there is an option under "more options" that says "plain text mode". Did you try using that yet?
