Hi,

I am experiencing LAG in my computer witch is a:

CPU - Intel Core I5 760
Mainboard - ASUSTeK P7P55D-E
Memory - 2X DDR3 4GB 800Mhz
Graphics - NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650 Ti
Disk - SSD 840 EVO 250GB ATA Device pus 2 500GB normal disks, and i have HM2 in the SSD

What would you guys advice me to upgrade?

In short, mainboard+CPU, probably also RAM. That socket 1366 board is too old to just get a faster processor; you hardly get socket 1366 CPUs any more.

Otherwise you maybe could try a fresh OS install; is the OS also on the SSD? That's 8GB RAM right? If it's only 4GB upgrading to 8GB might help.

Its a 2x4 GB, and OS in SSD.

So what mother board and CPU you think i should get?

I think the i7 4790k is solid (socket 1150). I plan to upgrade to that CPU myself soon (from an i5). Maybe check this thread of a recent build: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/48...puter-1491320/

I can't really advice for a specific mainboard; there are so many and I research that closely only when I plan on a new build.

I'd reinstall windows first and see if that helps.

You could look at your windows experience index to see which component is getting the lowest rating. You need to go to control panel >> system and security >> system >> check windows experience index. In most cases, its going to be the hd. Whichever component has the lowest number is the one you would see the greatest performance gains if you upgraded it.

The 840 EVO has a firmware bug affecting read performance (lag). Update the firmware on it and see if that solves your lag.

(and back up everything first)
