The opera tab pinning is awesome tho!
I thought what is out now is stable? It's the only one they are offering on their home page now.

I haven't run into any issues with font yet, is that a common issue?

I have to admit I do like IE9, which makes my above statement very questionable because my morales/sanity might have left me.
It actually is a pretty slick interface, as much as it pains me to say that. The standard theme for FF4 is pretty meh.

Have you been looking at how much memory it is using?

I have also felt like Firefox 4 is quite a RAM hog

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but for me every font is completely blurry except I switch off hardware accel which makes it not competitive performance wise. It looks pretty similar as if I would switch ClearType off.

That's what I meant with not stable. They really had to push it out after chrome and IE.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

why would I care how much memory Firefox is using? I have 4gb of RAM on my laptop, and something stupid like 9 or 12 on my desktop.

If I have the RAM, I might as well use it.

Do you consider DropBox secure enough to store your Keepass database? I suppose you could name it something obscure, like a jpg extension or something, or is that taking paranoia a step too far?

Besides the fact that you can get USB fingerprint devices for 30 bucks since ages, all the features are well known and available to anyone completely free.

I think this service' security level is pretty comparable to following the advice in funkyworms videos but adding a biometric device into the equation.

Security solutions that are not open source and not an AV are doomed to not remain secure forever. Impossible.
They gonna get hacked
Like it happened to RSA to a couple of days ago. 290 million keys stolen ...

A friend of mine sat down at my computer and swiped his finger and it registered him as me, what a piece of junk.

No freezes at all every ten seconds or so while playing flash vids when it autosaves its session set by the default time interval......

Just search for firefox flash freezes : they don't even have a fix on mozdev.org except setting a larger time interval for session autosaving

This is the reason why I had to add chrome in August to watch flash vids cause I got really sick of them for not producing a single fix for that (they actual only fix is to set it to the max that is rougly ten minutes, I don't want a single freeze at all) . If only we could disable that autosave feature cause I don't care if it doesn't reopen my previous tabs if it crashes.

Technically yes.

Having your complete password database on a server you don't have physical access to is something else.

What about sharing the master file only? It's not like anybody could make real use of it, even if he has it.

If they continue their success, they gonna get bought.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

You ever have an issue with the onboard graphics card not outputting? I just installed an ASUS M4A89GTD and while doing installation, I had one monitor plugged into the onboard and it's not even recognizing that it's there.

It's an ATI 4290 and my PCI-E is an 8600 GTS. The ATI doesn't even show up in Device Manager. The only things I've read is to take out one RAM stick, try again, reset the CMOS with the jumper, and to reseat the motherboard.

My only interest is to eventually run HDMI out into my stereo at some point.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

oh how I hate spec'ing a build. when you look at each individual part, it's only a couple more dollars here and there but by time you finish you realize it's like +30%.

What I initially considered for a poker machine using Phenom II 955|1055 has become a i5 2500K.

Grrrr!!!

In the end I may have to decide between the i5 or a nicer 2nd monitor

Wait, you have GPU in the PCI-E slot?
The onboard GPU is then automatically deactivated.

You can't use both at the same time imo. There's only so much bandwidth on your mobo.

Think about how long you'll have each part. The monitor is something you use to 100% all the time, the CPU likely not even 20% on average. (assuming you do poker/web stuff most of the time)

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

if your motherboard and your graphics card have the same manufacturer it should be possible

Don't the NB and the PCI-E slot share the lanes?
Do onboard GPUs have crossfire/sli, wat?

//edit:

Google revealed that there is in fact one single dedicated card you can use in combination because it's the same GPU as you got onboard as a discrete version, Radeon 5450.
It's called "hybrid-crossfire"

Intel's quick sync engine on sandy bridge won't work with a card in the PCI-E slot and the onboard GPU will be deactivated.

On the other side, in win7 you could use a nvidia and AMD discrete GPU at the same time.
Drivers/software are able to support all that, just the circumcised onboard GPU don't.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

Thank you, saved me a lot of time trying things to see why it wasn't showing. I've never tried to use both.
