USB 3.0 only has a faster data transfer rate compared to 2.0 right?

It's [theoretically] up to 10x faster if you have a USB 3.0 device, but otherwise it's functionally just a USB port.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

Have 2 Win7 pcs, they behave in rather different ways when I right click a program and select "run as administrator". (I do this several times a day, so getting this sorted would be quite lovely)

On my pc, the whole screen freezes when the admin login popup comes on. On my lady's pc, the admin login popup comes on, but the rest of the screen doesn't freeze.

How could I get my pc to act like hers? (It is the exact same program I'm running on both, for the record)

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

I'm going to check all the reviews I can find today but since I only have until the end of the day to get the sale I figured I'd ask here now.

128GB Samsung 830 for $89.99 with promo code on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...m-_-20-147-163

any reason that seems too good to be true? camelegg shows it as never having been below $119.99

Nope, it's an awesome deal for a top drive. Even in the states that NewEgg charges tax it's a good deal.

I guess it really was just a great deal because it's sold out

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

It was listed on Slickdeals' popular deals hours before it went on sale and become a frontpage deal once it went live. Given the price and popularity of the drive I'm surprised it went as long as it did.

There will be other deals so I wouldn't sweat it. The SSD price war is in full swing and at the rate they're going we might see them at .50/GB in a couple of months

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

a co-worker regularly downloads ~1.5GB per day of music from a legitimate DJ music service at the office. is it too nitty to throttle his connection to that particular website if it is breaking the acceptable use policy but not really affecting anything else? i have asked several times that he stop.

If he's ****ing up the network for everyone else then yes, block that site. That's beyond reasonable.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)

i agree that would make it an easy call, but he really only gets ~3.2Mbps out of the server from which he's downloading and we have 25Mbps service with burst up to ~60Mbps. so like maybe avg round trip time is 75ms instead of 55ms but that's about all the effect anyone could feel.
