So here is what I have under extensions:
Java Console 6.0.21
Java Console 6.0.18 (obviously this is older)
Java Quick Starter 1.0
Under Plugins:
Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.210.7 - NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy
Java(TM) Platform SE6 U21 - Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_21 for Mozilla Browsers
So the only one that really stands out to me is the 2nd extension, not sure about the rest. What is the best way to make sure these are up to date? All I do is update when Firefox tells me to update them. Does Secunia scan extensions/plugins inside programs or just the programs themselves? (I don't really use Secunia, I know I should)

Chrome users: try hitting Shift-Esc
It opens the built-in task manager for Chrome that I didn't know existed. Cool feature, not sure if useful yet, just discovered it randomly.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
I've always used MS Virtual PC to sandbox web browsing and general potentially insecure operations, and it has always worked very well, just a bit on the slow side (especially watching videos on Youtube, for example). I thought I'd give Virtualbox a try, and set up a VM for both Win7 and for Ubuntu, and have a couple of Q's:
1) I can't connect to my host OS printer from any guest OS (its a Canon MFP via USB 2.0, and it seems to be that USB 2.0 is the problem). Any suggestions? This is an area that Virtual PC wins hands down, there is completely transparent pass-through for guest to host printing. ETA: actually have this working from Ubuntu, just not Windows yet. It's still a hassle to have to connect and then remove it as a USB device via VBox though, much prefer VPC's method.
2) I installed both the desktop and netbook versions of Ubuntu, just to see what they look like. I'm a Unix noob btw. I liked the idea of the netbook version's Unity interface, but both installations look identical. I set startup to auto log on, but even if I switch user, there is no option to use Unity anywhere (couldn't find much documentation on Unity but seems that you should see something on the log on screen?). Any suggestions?

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
kudos to the additional help of some (fairly) new posters in this forum. The Phillips (brothers I assume) are a valuable addition to the core guys we have in here.
Oh and great job to the other forum regs as well! Here's to another good year in CTH for 2011

Thanks but there is only 1 Phillips afaik, I used to be Wade Phillips. That used to be a gimmick account, but kind of turned into my regular account. Long story

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
Does anyone know a good extension that forces firefox to wrap text on messageboards? A lot of times when I zoom in on forums on my netbook it stretches the window and I have to constantly scroll left/right to read

Most new forums have a 'fixed width' options for themes. I don't know about an extension tho.

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
Have a question, hopefully someone can answer relatively quickly.
I'm trying to get my unofficial transcripts off of my college's system. They have it setup in tables, but it's as a webpage so there isn't anything other than a single block of text and tables. I hope that makes sense. For example, if I just copy and paste it, it's just all words, no graphics capturing the tables.
I need to be able to get my transcripts off this page and submit them as an attachment, but the attachment has to be <127KB. I've tried print screening/cropping, but the file is too large.
I can't think of any other way to do this. Copy/paste onto Word only leaves a very unedited mess. I've tried Excel, but it does the same thing.
EDIT: Just tried saving it as a webpage, but then I got an error that said it has to be in one of these formats:
Rich Text Format (.rtf)
Text (.txt)
Microsoft Word ® (.doc)
Acrobat ® Portable Document Format (.pdf)

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
I've downloaded a file that I need to open with Java Web Start. The problem is Win7 suggests I open the file with some other program, which doesn't work. So I need to use the "browse" button to find Java Web Start in order to select it, so it can open the file. But I have no clue where Java Web Start is located on my computer, and a search turns up nothing.
I have checked and my Java is up to date. this **** is so frustrating.
Thanks.

Don't see that option here. So nobody has an extension for this?

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
Ok, so I somehow missed that option, but it still doesn't actually do what I want it to do. When I zoom in it still can stretch the screen. (I use ctrl+ to zoom, not something that zooms just the text)
Maybe this can't be fixed by zooming the way I do?

Re: >clickity-click< (NC thread 0.0.1a)
how come there's such a huge difference in price among usb flash drives? I did a search on buy.com and 32gb flash drives ranged in price from $35 to almost $400. From the descriptions, it seems like the only difference was the expensive ones had some kind of encryption. But you can encrypt a flash drive for free in like 5 minutes using True Crypt right?
