Cant use bold or other formating in 2+2

Weird thing just started happening. I cant use bold or italics or any of the formatting in my 2+2 messages. If I highlight "weird" with my mouse, for example, the word is highlighted but as soon as my mouse arrow gets to the formatting bar to click B for bold, the highlighting disappears and when I click bold nothing happens.

I can highlight in word or excel just fine.

Am using a laptop. Any ideas?

After I click into the typing box it acts normally as long as I keep my mouse pointer within the box [if that makes sense

To put it another way

I click into the message box to type & I get the flashing cursor as per normal. But if I stop typing & move my mouse out of the message box area the flashing cursor disappears & I have to click into the message box to be able to continue typing.

The cursor should remain flashing in the message box even if I move my mouse about the screen & the flashing cursor should only disappear when I perform some clicking action outside the box with my mouse

okay, I have the flashing cursor here and here and here

i just moved my mouse outside the message box area and the cursor inside the message box kept flashing

so I am unable to reproduce your error (i am on windows pc)

if you haven't done so, please report this to the "About the Forums" forum (new thread sounds appropriate)

Hmmm...

I am guessing that trying a browser other than FireFox might be the solution.

I have no problem selecting the text with my mouse, it is just that once I move mouse out of the message box to click B for bold, it immediately deselects the text I highlighted.
