Which browser are you using?

If using Firefox, press the ALT key and the menu bar will appear at the top. Click on tools > add ons. Select the toolbar and then uninstall.

If using Internet Explorer go to tools > manage add ons and then disable.

Not sure about Chrome as I don't use it.

Ok. Try going to view > toolbars and untick it. It won't uninstall it, but it should stop it appearing. You'll need to press ALT again to make the view option appear.

Another way to get rid of it would be to delete associated registry keys, but I wouldn't do this unless you're comforable with regedit. I've had to do this before to get rid of toolbars and it's a pain.

On Firefox :

Go to “about:config” settings and do following =>
Type “Keyword.url” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
Type “browser.search.defaultengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.

tepgn after it changed back to Google i searched under about:config and Blekko was still there see pic above so is it some kind of computer virus or trojan etc? Or does it come with Mozilla Firefox when you download it as i read that Blekko joined up with Mozilla but was also told it should not download with Mozilla so just wondering if its some kind of trojan or w/e?

article mentioned

Firefox flirts with Blekko for 'instant' search

An experimental add-on from Mozilla and Blekko powers a new take on "instant" search results in Firefox.

Mozilla may not have a dedicated in-house search engine division the way that Google and Microsoft do, but it does have a new partnership with alterna-search Blekko.

The Blekko add-on (download), developed by Mozilla Labs' Prospector team, aims to cut down on the repetitive search behaviors of many Firefox users. Mozilla says that its research indicates that people often search for the same term, not because they're looking to find it again but because they're attempting to navigate elsewhere. This add-on, like Google's Instant search feature, cuts down on the extra steps by pre-caching sites, showing preview pages, and recognizing commonly searched-for terms from only a few typed letters.

The add-on changes your default search to Blekko, and it's restartless, which means that Firefox won't have to be closed and re-opened to use the add-on.

You can download Malwarebytes and run a scan, it's pretty good for detecting infections if there are any.
