I'm pretty terrible with computers and this may seem like a silly question. I have a 128GB SSD hard drive which is now full because of my huge HEM database. I've ordered a bigger SSD and want to transfer all the files from my old one to new one. However I can't do a backup of either my HEM database or my overall computer as the SSD has no room on. My operating system runs on my SSD and I have another in computer hard drive and an external hard drive. Any suggestions?

yeah you can buy a little adapter that hooks up to the computer. Pop new larger drive in that and follow instructions to copy over

Just unhooked my other hard drive, downloaded the installation stuff for the new SSD and it copied it over for me, unplugged the old SSD and put the new one in it's place.

Hey, I need to do this as well. Could you be more specific on how to transfer everything over including o/s to new SSD? Seems I'm an even bigger noob. Really appreciate it thanks

If you buy a Samsung SSD they come with a data migration tool. Having said that, it's often recommended that you start from a clean install rather than cloning an existing installation to your new drive. Having said that I did the latter (using the Samsung tool) and it worked fine for me. That was a couple of years ago and going from SSD to SSD; I guess YMMV.
