Re: Best mouse for poker?

I have a lot of mice.

I tried the Evoluvent sideways thing and cannot use it. If anyone wants to buy a barely used one cheap, shoot me a PM.

I have the MX Revolution and its the most comfortable for me to use & has nice features, but it goes haywire sometimes and I have to switch to an alternate mouse. Maybe its used up, but it should be way more durable imo.

I have one of these as my primary mouse now and it is very good:

The only thing I don't like is the cord. It has 3 buttons that change the speed of the pointer. You have the option of 6 different speeds for each of these buttons. It has several other good buttons as well that would probably work for hot keys if I knew what I was doing. I recommend it to anyone who wants a very good corded mouse.

Re: Best mouse for poker?

I went to Best Buy today. I looked at the MX Revolution and a Razor mouse.. i think it was the DeathAdder. The MX Revolution was what I went to look at but the Razor mouse was super comfortable although it didn't have enough buttons. I has a rubbery feel that is awesome. It think I will look at some of the other models from Razor. I have never used a gaming mouse before and have no idea whether it would be more prone to misclicks in poker. I want to use my new mouse with TableNinja and have it automatically bet when I press a hot key.

Re: Best mouse for poker?

I've got the Microsoft Wireless Laser 7000 desktop set. Love the keyboard, hate the mouse.

Some genius @ Microsoft decided to put a AAA size battery in the mouse. Idiotic thing to do apparently - the mouse is all the time having lag issues, swapping battery sometimes fixes it.

Finally gave up and went with the Logitech G9 Lasermouse and LOVE it. Yes, it's wired but when you move the mouse, the pointer moves - precisely. Best mouse I've ever had by a long shot, the weights and changable cover are great. The G9 has lots of good reviews - that's how I decided to try it.

I now use the MS wireless keyboard and the Logitech wired mouse. Very happy with this combo.

Re: Best mouse for poker?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a mouse for a macbook that is good for poker (Need alot of buttons for Bet pot script)? I have the G5 for my desktop and love it, I probably went through 4 wireless mice in a pretty short span playing poker before settling on the G5 and have had it for nearly 2 years with no problems. I'm guessing the G7 would be the logical choice to get since I love the G5, but not sold on it after hearing about reliability issues. Should I expect all wireless mice to breakdown/lag/etc after a short period since multi tabling poker will take its toll on them?

Would using a wired mouse for a laptop be a hassle?

I have this exact mouse and mat. In fact, I think it was on your recommendation in another thread fozzy. Definitely very happy with my purchases.

Re: Best mouse for poker?

Bump.

I saw the Logitech mx 1100 on sale and I impulse ordered it because I have been wanting to buy a mouse and it's like 6am.

The problem is I'd be using it on a laptop and it might be too big for that. Does anyone have any experience with this mouse? I'm looking for something that I could use on not the greatest surface at times (recliner arm, leg, etc) while playing poker. I'm trying to get away from my laptop's touchpad. Would this work for that or should I look in a different direction?

The Logitech laser mice are good. But if you want something to use on non-standard surfaces you might want to consider a trackball or something instead?

Re: Best mouse for poker?

I was thinking about that as well.

HP sucks and I can't cancel my order so I will have to send it back, which I suppose I will do.

Logitech Cordless Trackman looks pretty good right? Trackball definitely seems like the best fit for what I am looking for, just never used one so I am a bit hesitant.

Thanks btw.

A decent laser mouse will work on pretty much any surface.

Re: Best mouse for poker?

Even some "decent" ones have trouble with white/shiny surfaces. And F60 was talking about using it on (potentially uneven) fabric and body parts - even though they might work okay you risk losing precision, especially with the time demands of multitabling.

FWIW I swear by my MX Revolution, and the G7 before that (before it succumbed to the microswitch problem that dogs them).

Re: Best mouse for poker?

I'll test this:

PokerMouse

Probably it won't be too good for multitabling. I'll take a shot at it

Re: Best mouse for poker?

Just throw a mouse pad over your keyboard and use the mouse on there. It will also keep you from chat tilting obv

I'm really happy with my Logitech MX1100 and the programmable buttons I've got for bet pot and all in.

Does the job fine and it's very comfortable with good battery life.

took some getting used to (figuring out what's most comfortable for your thumb), but i love mine.

the arm of my chair is wide enough to set the mouse on, so it's pretty much perfect. eventually you'll want to adjust the acceleration and sensitivity of the mouse depending on how much screen estate you have.

edit: range is decent, battery life is excellent.
