120GB SSD enough? 120GB SSD enough?

I searched the last 7 pages and I couldn't find anything about this exact topic.

I'm customizing a Lenovo on their website and I know I want an SSD, however the 256GB SSD is $320 more than the 120GB SSD. Is 120GB enough for pokering considering I stream all my music and movies, and I don't store assloads of photos or anything. The only thing that could potentially take up a bit of space would be PT4/HEM if the U.S. government ever lets me play on pokerstars again. Until then I'll probably just get holdem indicator.

Considering you can get a 250 gb SSD for 80$, I would say thats a total rip off

Pokerphile,

As far as your question, if your SSD is going to be your only storage, I think you'll almost certainly find yourself lacking free disk space with just 120GB.

As far as Lenovo, I can't recommend enough to not buy anything from this company, they are extremely shady. Aside from Love_the_game's valid point regarding their price for upgraded SSD being a rip off, they have been caught three times pre-installing spyware on their computers. They are extremely shady, don't buy from them.

On the other hand, if you happen to like spyware, and are getting a computer with Windows 10, at least you'll have redundancy in your spyware.

Cheers!

+1 to everything catsec said

256GB is minimum, imo. We have computers with 128GB SSDs and space is always a challenge.

A high quality 480gb SSD on Amazon is 154, and is often on sale for less. Does the Lenovo have some fantastic features that make up for its pricing?

On my Dell laptop you can replace a drive in a couple minutes. 2 screws on the case. 2 screws on the drive itself.

I'd have a hard time not feeling ripped off paying that much.

250GB should be the smallest you get today. Get the largest size you can afford. The Lenovo and it's SSD sound overpriced.

Agree what others have said. I think tomshardware-website has monthly comparison on SSD-drives and I bought Samsung 250 GB one recently. Just a slightly more expensive than 125 Gigs.

remember as well that you shouldnt fill hard drives too full saving you from some performance issues. 15-20 % free should be good. As you can see this requirement further reduces the available space.
