Bottle Imp Paradox Bottle Imp Paradox

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bottle_Imp

in summary, there is a bottle that will grant the owner every wish he desires. the catch is that if the bottle is in your possession when you die, you will burn in hell for eternity. However, to get rid of it, you must sell it at a loss, and the payment must be in cash/coin. you can't throw it away or anything.

assume heaven and hell don't exist except for the person that owns this bottle. assume everything in the above paragraph is completely true and believed by everyone on earth.

the paradox, obviously, is that the bottle can never be sold (in theory). you can't buy it for 1 cent cause you can't sell it (lets just use 1 currency for the purposes of this thread. no valuation changes also). you can't but it for 2 cents cause no one would buy it for 1 cent. etc etc

but clearly this is not the reality. anyone would buy this for a million dollars, i assume. so the question is, WHAT is the least you would pay to get this bottle? what would the average person bid on it?
