What is the most valuable resource in the world?

For my question, I am looking for an answer that is practical in the usage of daily life for the average person. So "oxygen" isn't a good answer.

And someone will inevitably say "it's subjective" but that adds nothing of value.

Time is something that we all have but all want more of.

Money is vital to life and happiness.

I think it's between those two things but maybe other things are more valuable

Sorry I don't understand the problem with Oxygen, seems pretty important to everyones daily life, but if that's not an option Water looks fine.

I think water is more valuable but I think a resource that we really need that we are using up fast and have had recent shortages of that many people don't realize how important it is, is helium.

In the current state of the world oxygen is not a resource. It is a ubiquitous element everywhere on the earth, and it's inexaustible and can't be spoiled or depleted. There is no possibility of scarcity.

Usable water on the other hand can be spoiled or depleted, and is not ubiquitous on the earth. Supplies can be controlled and it definitely has relative scarcity at various times and places.

Water is #1 AINEC.

From Wiki: "Resources have three main characteristics: utility, limited availability, and potential for depletion or consumption."

Try for something real, at least something which you can know when you have gained it.

There are many things which, if they were taken away, we would die. Anything absolutely necessary for life is equally valuable in a certain sense. The question is only interesting if you assume you have the bare essentials.

I think the most valuable resource is other people, community. Genetic diversity, decent survival, and most desire can only be met with other people. Only with other people can you have any chance of maximizing other resources so its at the top of the hierarchy in a way.
