I don't think that in theory there is any chance of surviving the impact... even the most ultimate land will have so much impact throughout your whole body that the damage is to letal.

Given that a few people have survived these falls, I think you're paddling upstream with the idea that survival is impossible.

Maybe it's one of those cases where the theory is right and the data is wrong and those people actually haven't survived.

There may be certain kinds of trees that are good for breaking your fall if you fall through them. Or that may have just been a ruse another kid pulled on me daring me to try it back in my tree climbing days.
