I love it when people who have zero idea of what the dept of ed actually does say idiotic things like that last sentence. If you can name a single area or topic where any mysterious faceless gubmint official has dictated the curriculum, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
And I'm curious to know how your two examples aren't logically contradictory. If war is bad for the economy, and new deal social programs didn't end the depression, what magic did?
