i thought this was an extremely entertaining film. based on carl sagan's 1986 novel, i loved the premise.
the only thing i did NOT enjoy was mcconaughey's role. his opening scene withstanding, you simply just do not believe his character. sure, the guy has decent acting chops but he is unable to save the grossly incongruous level of importance the film gives to his character.
