NPR had a show about lying this weekend. One study about social and self-lying involved questions to people like do you enjoy your bowel movements? and have you ever had a rape fantasy?

I think they came to a partial conclusion though when stating that people who lie to themselves about the reality of their rape fantasy and poop enjoyment are happier and more successful. Though that data is useful for progress if it remains supported.

I predict no one will be able to answer the question without attacking the questioner and/or qualifying emotionalisms, forced and bad logic, inherent bias, cloudy thinking, misinterpretation, misunderstanding, confirmation bias, and general ignorance and stupidity. This is especially true of the sanctimonious, a most insidious breed of humans.

Sort of. Some people are capable of a more nuanced view. For instance, I don't think that people who are conscientious are bad and I am quite happy that they exist.

Not everyone is subject to the Halo Effect. Not everyone is low in Openness to Experience. Some can even see shades of grey.

Looked up Halo Effect. Suspect a plethora of definitions really. The webpage also informed me that the opposite of the Halo Effect is "cannibalization". Any epidemics forthcoming of this phenomena I wonder.

This had me confused for a bit - thought you were providing a counter example on first read. Cold calling and following a script requires loads of conscientiousness.
