Living under a pecan tree and next to a fig tree is wild. Today a squirrel, who is a yard reg, took a combined swoop of two blackbirds and a mocking jay all at once. Good times for fruits and nuts lovers. Rained so much the grass is ridiculous and BOLO for dem bam bam copperhead sneks. Move the **** along like a slitherer does.

Thanks for that! What a great find, wherever it came from. Where did it come from? I'd like to know who had such a great sense of humor.

Medical definition Phobia

Phobia: An unreasonable sort of fear that can cause avoidance and panic. Phobias are a relatively common type of anxiety disorder. Phobias can be treated with cognitive behavioral therapy, using exposure and fear-reduction techniques. In many cases, antianxiety or antidepressant medication proves helpful, especially during the early stages of therapy.

And this:

The marked increase recently in the use of "x"-phobia to classified and denigrate certain groups of people is a marvelous propaganda tool. Note that the medical condition definition is an undertone or implied reference (as opposed to the unmedical definition or the more commonly used) to make the denigrated group seem even more reprehensible - thus easier prey for the supposed superior of; I have no phobia. Thus making them so morally superior that it elevates them to the throne of godhead, and the ability to dictate to all others by fiat their own commandments. Mt. Sinai, again.

I have no beerphobia that I know of. Despite there are some beers I reel from - I have no fear of drinking them when the need arises or the spirit moves me.

It can't be as serious as you think it is. This forum. Or that forum. Readjust your priorities; this is just a suggestion, for help on the road to sanity.

Flinging the phobia stick at others and making it stick and stink is fun, but best left for the political nerds. Works wonders as it equates fear with hate, making it an all encompassing perfect Orwellian term to paint your enemies with. But better fun, at least for me, is making up common phobias that we all have, or should have, or secretly have, or that lurk in those innermost deep dark recesses of the mind. And we have-

Dickophobia: The irrational fear of other men seeing your dick and/or that you will give too long of a side glance at your neighbors dick while at the urinal. Note that many men’s bathrooms have those polite little barriers between private urinals, to block the urge of dick ogling. Someone knows and is doing something about this nefarious phobia (which can lead to another phobia, ad infinitum).

Popeophobia: The Kafkaesque fear that you will wake up one day and find yourself The Pope. You go to sleep a nobody, and wake up as The Eminent leader of a squeamish herd of 1.2 billion morons that looks to you for guidance and leadership in all things spiritual. And you are now celibate.

Postophobia: The fear that someone will make an internet post about you making fun of you and that it is forever in the public record and domain. Years from now, down into the fifth and sixth generation, the shame will follow your family.

Irishophobia: The fear that you won’t be drunk enough with your friends at the local pub.

And the beat goes on…………………………

Elusivegeometricalproofnightmareophobia:The fear of going back to sleep because you will resume seeing the same endless nightmare about a geometrical problem you cant solve convincingly while sleeping hence the nightmares.

Treatment; Stand up go to desk solve the f*cking problem properly, even simulate it for illustration and then tell the nightmares to bring it mfers...Good night.

True story. The problem was constructed while sleeping not a real life problem.

Elusivegeomtricalproofinsidethedreamophobia: The fear of not being able to wake up from inside the dream because you have to prove you can solve it from inside first and not awake ie the less macho way.

Treatment; Wake up, go get some real universe problems that top the original problem in complexity, solve them and stop bothering with esoteric obsessive compulsive bs during sleep time, then sleep. Complication; That may not end within 24h as planned. Countermeasure in that case; initiate a study of new topic with exceptionally ambitious goals that solve a more general class of problems that require extensive studies. Plan the studies and start the first page of reading. Upon reaching page 2 sleep. Bring it you martingale mfers...

I don't know any Billy Bobs.

Foolish people are far more interesting imo than people who are correct. People who are intelligent and wrong are endlessly fascinating. Take the Trump verdict today. It was dead obvious if you had two working brain cells and a slight knowledge of the principles of law that the Supreme Court would overturn the lower court travel ban injunctions, which were obviously and completely against any reading of the law or constitution. You only needed a reasonable level of intelligence and a small understanding of legal principles to see why. Yet smart people here, even lawyers, argued the opposite against me, and did so fervently. How do people get so utterly wrong about things that are crystal clear and easy to get the right answer to? I find that endlessly fascinating and very educational, for I would make the same mistakes they do without the wisdom of watching them make asses of themselves and hence learning all classes of reasons why people get the wrong answer.

Or the science thread.

I feel that if I could somehow parallelize my interactions with "smart" people who are getting completely the wrong answer to easy questions, I could achieve the ubermensch.
