But its right leg is telling it's going up, imo, why would it otherwise be bent like that, if not for support on the next step above?

But yeah, designing steps you can stumble on is unlikely and immoral. So you are looking up the stairs. Paradoxally the cat is going upwards, probably photoshopped in. So it's just absurd, and not reality.

Could it be backing up the steps?

WTF is this?

May be the key to the illusion?

Edit: same thing next, and previous bend. Pillars supporting something non-existent.

I just note that it is a woman doing the laundry. At least M.C. Escher got that correct.

Just hanging it up. Man has used his knuckles for the washing part.

Damn, Escher missed the opportunity to draw the rope in between the woman's hands and the cloth introducing another mockery in the drawing!

I cannot believe he did fail that. It would make him a more high fiveable guy than he already was. He also failed to draw the middle of the rope higher than the edges it is hanging from to mock gravity.

Now its time to tell you guys that my high school had painted a mural (enlargement of small paint abstract/surrealistic art) of my work when i was 16. I probably failed professionally not becoming an artist with IQ/science/tease in the themes or a scifi film maker. But who knows maybe its not too late lol. Still havent lost hope for Physics having being the right choice.

For example a project of our times dedicated to politics guys on 2+2 would be to produce a maximally politically incorrect drawing that however was an elaborate illusion with the opposite message...

The cat is going down the stairs and the camera is on the floor (rather than at the normal eye level that you are accustomed to).

Victory: The Life of Lord Nelson by Oliver Warner. Just started this book that seems, so far, very well written in an engaging style. I hope to pick up a few pointers on how to conduct myself the next time I invade the UK.

Just finished Lucrezia Borgia by Sarah Bradford. Generally a poorly written work and wholly substandard - although portions are good which made me stick it out to the end. Won't go into details as to the whys etc. Given the greatness of the Borgia's for living large and wide and interesting there must be better biographies.

Civilization appears to be undergoing a typical heebie-jeebies phase that occur at random intervals. We are all caught up in an M.C. Escher drawing and think that the proportions and perspectives are correct from our view when in fact they are all out of whack. I am not concern. Civilization is not something serious or even important. Would make an interesting thread: Why Civilization is a Joke: Philosophy on the half-shell.

On a side note in regard to the Alfred Hitchcock (AH) explosion from above; in a BBC interview (it is on youtube) a woman asked AH why he did not do comedies. He rebuked her very efficiently and honestly by stating emphatically that all his movies where comedies.

He was right of course. How could he not be. This little antidote also helps illustrate how blind most people really are.

I liked when Tom, keeping on to his raft, struggled between leaving it and save Wilson, or let Wilson go, making the right decision. It was sanity winning over insanity. But it was a truly moving moment. Cry and let go.

So is it pretty much accepted by now (perhaps tacitly) that we (our known universe) is being run by some higher intelligence, whose workings we may never be able to understand, perhaps lying outside of anything we can ever discover physically?
