Actually, it says 57% for publishing atmospheric physicists (metoeologists and atmospheric science specialists). The 61% is for those who "mostly" publish in climatology.

Please refer to Nate Silver's, "The Signal and the Noise," to understand why the meteorologists at MIT and at the United States National Weather Service, are in a better position to structure models of reality than say, whoops, a climate scientist.
You're acting like someone who thinks that Freud got everything right.
It's weird. In Brian's world, publishing atmospheric physicists with the same degrees who use the same models and equations day in, day out, and do 95% of the same science, are like cement mixers compared to chemistry scientists.

Not to mention, the data completely debunks the claim of 97% of scientists agreeing the to (far stronger) view that global warming is whollymanmade and dangerous (my sole point). But let's throw out huge red herrings and smear people instead...

You know you've got an irrational religion on your hands when you see that kind of behavior.

Also:

You're putting that in quotes, but Al Gore never said that.
Yes, I hesitated to write it but who(politician) did say that ?? Do you know ??

OK, looked it up, interview with Wolf Blitzer: I stand corrected. Not exactly "invented". According to the below he did all good things and yet here we are ...

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country’s economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system."

Had to go back, the question becomes "would we have the internet without Al gore ?" Did we really need the government imprimatur in order to have the internet ? I think not, typical politician balderdash of nothing but "I'm great, cant you see ?".

Yeah. Most things we see that are put down to the government were just what arose out of improving hardware making new capabilities possible. Large scale networking was always inevitable, government or not. Corporate intranets alone would have driven it.

What are your political views, carlo? You seems fairly libertarian.

Sure, it's a subset of "meteorology and atmospheric science." Why you keep falsely conflating these terms is a bit of a mystery -- maybe you just think the "physics" part sounds impressive? At any rate, it's right there in black and white on the chart you keep posting. Anyone can read it and see that you're a fraud.

Really, who do you think is going to fall for this obvious bull****?

BREAKING: Man on Internet Finds Research Study That Doesn't Support Claims He Wants to Make

The study found that as you get further from being an expert in a subject, knowledge about that subject drops. Quite interesting that they discovered the obvious.

Also, the study references the 97% figure, which is problematic if you're trying to prove that the 97% value is wrong.

Optimistic and excited!

Trump is sorely needed and already doing a lot of good. I hope he gets to pursue his agenda and more importantly his top notch cabinet (especially Tillerson) gets time and clear air to do their work.

Canada's Donald Trump? 'Shark Tank' star Kevin O'Leary runs for Tory leadership:

canada-kevin-oleary-conservatives/

From above link:

Canada's got its own reality TV star vying for the nation's top job.

Kevin O'Leary, the business man-turned-reality TV star, announced Wednesday that he will stand in the now 14-person race to lead Canada's Conservative party.

The winner will likely challenge current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the country's 2019 federal elections.

"Canadians need a Prime Minister with a smart plan to kick start the economy; a Prime Minister who supports small businesses, who will fight for hard working Canadians and will stop wasting our money," O'Leary said in a statement on why he's running.

Too bad he isn't letting Tillerson appoint who he wants, oops!

This presidency is a disaster at this point. It is quite clear Trump is a great marketer and not much else. Also a great father to 5 kids by 3 different women. Great father.

By nature, I'm not a political person and so can't smooth up to any club. If anything I see the ideal work of government to further the improvement of the individual man.

Abstractly, that could mean anything from giving bread and games to the masses to the spiritual improvement of the human soul so it becomes, in my mind, a matter of working within clarity of individual consciousness without preconceived notions and yada, yada, yada,...

The best to you Toothsayer...

In keping with your question one of my favorite characters is from the supposed German communist writer Bertholt Brecht's "Mother Courage". Her stand vis a vis officialdom gives me no small amount of pleasurement . LOL

It would be a better article if it were about a coal-fired steam ice-breaker.

The word you were looking for with the "maybe you just think the "physics" part sounds impressive" part above is "bombastic."

Bombastic is an excellent word.

Has your stripper girlfriend taken over your account? It's self-beclowning after self-beclowning from you lately.

The idea that we needed the government to have the Internet today is insane. The Internet arose naturally out of the increasing speed of hardware and processing power of computers making networking both viable and desirable.

The government got there first because it is was initially - as the hardware first crossed the viability barrier - unprofitable/not worth it and only wasteful governments could afford to do something like this. But with never-ending exponential increases in speed and storage and the components of network hardware (that latter driven purely by Moore's law), large scale networking was inevitable. The government was irrelevant my friend.

I didn't say "today." I said what I said about how the internet came to be: If private enterprise could have done it, it would have done it. It didn't

Presumably we don't need to imagine an alternative universe in which everything that exists today in the real world except for the internet, and then use our imaginations to determine that we'd probably think today "hey, maybe we should have one of those internet thingamajigs that the real universe has."

I truly have no idea what you're saying, or how it relates to the question of if we needed the government imprimatur in order to have the Internet.

My vote is either stripper girlfriend (hi Candice!) posting on your behalf while you're tied up somewhere, or prolonged bender.

Well, help out a retard.

Carlo:

You:

Carlo's implied question is if the government was needed for the Internet to exist today (no one gives a **** whether it would have been born in 1986 or 1989).

So your response is weird. It seems that you either didn't understand the obvious intent of Carlo's question, OR you truly believe the Internet wouldn't exist without historical government imprimatur. As evidence in support of this, you link the Wikipedia article on DARPA.

So I think my comprehension is just fine. It appears your reading comprehension or understanding of the Internet is at issue, my friend.

Again, "Candice", please untie Brian so we can have him back. He's missed. You've had your fun and games.

How much does Putin pay his internet trolls? Is it a salaried position? Is it by the post? The hour? or by some other metric? Do the Trolls have to supply their own computer(s) and other required electronic gismos? Are they organized as small cadres in some clandestine concrete bunker with low lighting and little heat? Do they always eat take out or do they bring their own lunch and supper of vodka and borscht? Just a few of the more interesting questions that come to mind. All rhetorical of course.
