but seriously, i respect DS. a lot. if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have done a lot more with my late teens/early twenties than **** around with drugs and **** I had no business dealing with. Poker led me to something cool, and there wasn't a lot of cool **** going on in my life back then.

That said, jesus ****ing christ dude. You completely embody the stereotypical professional poker player, a chronic underachiever who honestly was probably only led to poker because of intellectual laziness. You have the raw ability, but you didn't use it in any meaningful way. Poker's the opposite of meaningful. Becoming an expert in a zero sum game in an industry that frequently destroys lives - that's the legacy you've left.

Over the years I've read so many of your posts and OPs and have frequently been astounded at how someone with so much raw brainpower could be so obtuse at times.

True. I have a fault of allowing too much drivel and always err on the side of hoping something good and meaningful will work its way out of whatever is posted. Probably not a wise blanket policy and I may need to tweak it a bit to save my mod status.

All you guys have to do is sum up all of Sklansky's nerd points and then subtract the demerits. Not sure where all this emotional crap is coming from.

But who disagrees? DavidS is easily one of the top 5 posters itf. My favorite was when he explained that the reason rich celebrities favor progressive taxation is because they feel guilty for not being good at math. Although I guess this means he owes Sean Penn an apology too.
