Many surprises so far, but the 'main events' have generally been anticlimactic, I feel like. Too bad there was no real competition in the 400 tonight. Makes a very quick 200m more likely I guess, but there the field is thin as well.

Obviously the IAAF still handled it very poorly, particularly the lack of communication throughout the day.

not thrilled with today altho makwala going twice in a short space of time will be interesting. i expect he'll get a big response from the crowd. women's 400 final will be worth a watch and long jump qualifying for hotness (a general trend is that the hottest ones tend to be awful so keep an eye out for the no hopers)
