Agree w/ this. I'm still a little bitter that the draft coverage was all Sanchez slobbering. Made sense being from USC and going to New York and not many care about the Lions. And then after a few solid games it got really annoying. I don't wish anything bad for him... only that Stafford ends up the best QB in the draft for the sake of my sanity.

the people around sanchez are >>> any lions player (w/ the exception of CJ and possibly KS) imo. yet stafford has shown more promise than sanchez.

stafford has had more responsibilities put on his shoulders than sanchez has. sanchez can't even hand off a football properly without ****ing something up.

stafford will end up being the better nfl QB imo.

I'd have to agree with that though Sanchez was clearly less experienced out of college. But still he's only averaging 26.5 attempts per game with one of the top rushing attacks in the game and a very good defense and is managing to play much more poorly. Stafford is throwing the ball 38.5 (!!!) times per game which is roughly the same as Peyton Manning and more than Brees, Warner, Favre etc. This is with the worst defense in the NFL and an extremely poor running game. It's really not close. Stafford would have the Jets at like 8-2.

The difference is that Stafford has always been a significantly better prospect than Sanchez. Stafford is more experienced, more physically gifted, and just more talented in general. The only edge Sanchez had was going to USC, which is imo the #1 school for a future NFL QB to attend...but Stafford went to Georgia, which probably cracks the top three.

I still think both guys (especially Sanchez) should have started their NFL careers on the bench, but teams just aren't patient enough with their $40+ million QB investments. Predictably, Sanchez has struggled, only topping 175 yards three times. Has Stafford struggled? Absolutely...as expected. But he's at least looking decent while struggling, and he finally had a huge day. Even against the Browns, throwing 43 times for 422 yards is pretty damn impressive. Oh, and despite having significantly more experience than Sanchez, Stafford is amazingly still just 21 years old. He's going to be really good for a really long time.

I think playing that last play with the rib injury showed guts, determination and set a great example for his team. Seeing a QB willing to play through such pain is a huge morale boost for the team and shows a lot of maturity: that you're not afraid to be in there when the game is on the line even when injured.

1) I saw him for the past 3 yrs. He's legit
2) Yeah, that was college. I get that. He didn't go to a fluff school though, and the kid's only 21.

didn't know fluff schools amassed 11 National Championships and produce ridiculous NFL talent.

Sorry, I wasn't actually comparing him to USC/Sanchez. Thread fail on my part.

I can though.
- USC does produce ridic talent. To deny that would be ******ed. Sanchez is nowhere near the best player to leave the program in the past 15 years, but given the talent that they HAVE let go, that'd be tough to do.

- USC plays really impressive football. That being said, they don't play as well as they are hyped. Typical Pac-10. Their strength of schedule this year is MUCH better than it has been in the past. I applaud that. However, their results have also kinda suffered.

- I wish USC had played in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago. Playing against Hawaii was a joke (but **** it was a fun trip)

(probably a lesser point to most of you, but w/e)
- USC's band is solid. Very solid, in fact.
--- sorry for the geek-out, I'm a music student.

Stafford makes some ridiculously impressive throws. He also makes some bad ones, but he's constantly on the run it seems.

Yeah, with experience the # of bad plays will decrease and the # of good plays will increase. He looks VERY good at times. Today all his picks were of the variety that he should have known the cornerback had position and not thrown the ball. I thought they should have taken him out around mid 3rd quarter, don't really get the point of allowing him to play in so much pain. I get it, he's a tough guy.

And again throwing 43 passes is not optimal. Defense cannot stop anybody. The Packers should have scored 45+ but failed inside the 10 a few times.

sure but its also really dumb to let a potential franchise QB go back out there and risk serious injury

I mean its a game between 1-8 teams the benefits of the play are grossly outweighed by the potential cost

First off, agree with this. If Stafford gets hit again, he's probably out for year. Really stupid.

Second off, by no means was I saying Stafford wouldn't be good. But bragging about being "right", after 10 games in the season, AFTER Sanchez has a terrible game and Stafford has his best game, was bad. If I remembered that SUB (btw SUB, don't think this is a personal attack. It's not) said that Stafford would be god and Sanchez not good if he starts right away, and I attacked him right after Staffords terrible games and Sanchez amazing start, it would look stupid.

If he came here in 5 years and said "I was right bitches!" THEN ok, props. But bragging after 10 games I find very silly.

Also, bump for Staffords 4 INT day? Great showing after 5 TD

I think I disagree. After this performance his leadership and drive will never be questioned and his teammates will play their asses of for him and that's huge for a QB.
