What an unnecessary, aggressive and condescending post

Are we now positioned to get there? This is year 5 for JK I think. Is this the normal path for National Teams?

We need a much better talent than we're getting even now. Top national sides get Pulisic level (assuming he continues at current trajectory) players every year, and it's yet to be shown we can produce that.

I think there's good reason to believe the underlying infrastructure and player pipeline is the best it's ever been, which was maybe even more his job than coaching.

We have a team that has lacked training consistency due to injuries and a changing of the guard in many spots. I think it's still ok to be upbeat but we will almost assuredly have inconsistency in the hex. If we get through that and qualify every reason to think we will have a shot to get out of our always extremely tough group.

Teams don't "move into" the top 8 of world soccer. Those teams have been there forever. The 8-16 teams come in and out either way. I'm trying to think of a team who has moved consistently into the top 10 since the 80s. France? Ummmm that's it? This isn't something that is guaranteed to happen you know.

I'm on the wagon that we had our golden generation 2002-2011ish and we have been on a down cycle talent wise since.

Were most of those players playing oversees? The only player I really knew then was Brian McBride because he played in Columbus. I know he had a cup of coffee over there. Our keepers always seemed to be over there as well. I don't remember other though.

Colombia has been in the top 10 for the last four years or so and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I can't wait for their game against Argentina tomorrow.

Based on their young talent, I see them being ranked pretty high for the next 10 years or so.

Belgium if you base it on the farce that is FIFA rankings, although they could well do it properly in the next few years.
Chile were rubbish for a long time, as indeed were Portugal.

Brian Mcbride had more than a cup of coffee in England. He was a legit striker for a premier League team

Bad choice of words on my part. I just meant he played in the MLS and spent time over there. He is still one of the more respected players from the Crew - if that means anything to anyone other than those from Columbus.

I totally forgot he played in the MLS until I looked up and saw his name at MAPFRE this weekend.

One thing I didn't realize about McBride was he was 32 when he moved to Fulham and played at a very high level in the freakin Premier League until he was 36. Is that right? Or are my maths off. That's pretty damn impressive. McBride GOAT
