Edu's touches have been God awful. Get him out of there.

Bradley = BOSS

i just feel a lot better about where we are right now vs 1 year ago. granted, a lot of that has to do with the maturation of some key guys, but the direction we're going tactically is going to make qualification a less WIMsy situation than it was at times last cycle.

hey Alexi, yes we can talk about Timmy Chandler when we put him out right.

I think before every segment producers tell Alexi Lalas to imagine he's speaking to a classroom of fourth graders. He just oozes that "let me lay out this incomprehensible foreign sport in terms that even YOU can understand" vibe that makes every American ex-player commentators/analyst so intolerable.

yeah, agree. It took JK some time to figure out which formation he wanted to play and a few guys need to adjust. I really like the look of Fabian, so awesome to have a true attacking LB who can send in some service.

Well I guess 2-1 is about right, got there a bit strangely though. Just a shame that Carlos is still our best CB and even he's not really good enough to be out there anymore. Hoping some of what we saw is rust from Gooch but he looks like that tall kid you know when you're growing up who never figured out how to be athletic with the form he was birthed into.

Kasey Keller has gotten a lot better pretty quickly, and I think Twellman is fine. For the life of me I can't understand why they still keep Lalas around. ESPN got rid of Harkes and Wynalda, get rid of this clown as well. McBride is pretty raw on FSC, but get him in eventually or somehow get Martino back.

yeah Twellman is a huge upgrade over Harkes though still pretty homeriffic. Wonder if Gary Neville is available to do USA friendlies?

that PK was a clear PK

2) edu has the comfort level in midfield of an ogre painting a sunset

3) bocanegra runs like a white american soccer player

Wouldn't mind seeing Torres hold and Edu out for another attacker to play in the band of 2. He couldn't offer less than what Edu is, and he might help actually keep some possession.

On the subject of announcers again, I'm still convinced that Marcelo Balboa in the 06 WC was one of the worst commentators ever for any major sport.

Grant Wahl ‏@GrantWahl
If you knew the work the US backroom staff went through to get new navy numbers for the uniforms tonight, you would be impressed.

Grant Wahl ‏@GrantWahl
The jersey number color switch will cost US Soccer close to six-figures at the very least, by the way.

That goal pretty nicely demonstrated what Gomez offers. I actually like his movement off the ball and he has a bit of that poacher ability.

Another great ball by Bradley, our new national hero. It looks like Klinsmann has instructed the CMFs to try to drive forward more, Jones found himself in a good position there though his touch was quite heavy.

Marcelo's 1v1 defending ability is much, much, much better than Donovan's 1v1 attacking ability.
