Gets to play with Guti for one of the best Turkish teams. If he starts this is as good a situation as possible imo.

don't count on it because of the highlighted. Obviously would be nice, but relying on goal.com for your soccer related news is like relying on the enquirer or TMZ for your regular news

Apparently the Schalke coach won't release Jones or something like that, which makes me a sad panda. He's apparently no longer on the roster, definitely a bummer.

I hope this doesn't mean he's done with the USMNT (although I don't see why it should). I'm looking forward to watching him pwn Mexico in the Gold Cup next summer.

In better news though, Jozy is the guy who took his spot (well actually, Jones and Marshall are no longer on the squad, and Jozy was called in) so we're not quite so pathetic in the striker department.

Omar Gonzalez also came in for Marshall and will get his first cap with the USMNT.

From Jones:

"I would like to thank Bob Bradley and the U.S> Federation greatly for my first official invitation," Jones said. "It is an honor that I have been working towards for over a year, and while I initially felt like I was ready to make my first appearance, it is also extremely important to me that I am 100 percent fit for my first national team game and that I make a good impression on the manager and my teammates."

"I hope to receive another invitation and finally fulfill my goal of playing with the U.S. national team in the very near future."

Great, those quotes sound good and I'm excited to see him with the USMNT. It sucks that the timing didn't work out for this WC but still.

nice little tap in there.

I thought the story was he is headed to Turkey. Are Villareal going to keep him around?

My best guess is no.

It also sounds like Benny Feilhaber (who wasn't on the gameday roster today) is headed out of Aarhus due to their relegation to the Danish First Division.

Apparently Movsisyan committed to Armenia today so we can scratch that potential striker off the list.

I really wish they'd called Convey in, but I'm still super pumped to see the game.

I hope some of the young guys (Feilhaber, Bedoya, Gonzalez) get a lot of minutes and look good.

Ives sez:

Howard; Spector, Gonzalez, Bocanegra (c), Bornstein; Bedoya, Bradley, Edu, Feilhaber; Donovan, Buddle

4-5-1? Or 4-4-2 with Donovan up top?
