United will be a different animal next season. Jose's tactics obviously worked well Ajax created nothing at all despite so much of the ball and United had all the chances. But we were still terrible on the ball for the most part. There is a huge amount of improvement to come.

We should have been able to do both. Set up for defensive direct play and create way more. That's what you see from Bayern and Real Madrid at their best Vs the likes of Barca. But we were just too poor on the ball. Luckily we didn't need to be any better because Ajax didn't play well and didn't adjust.

The only thing more pathetic than the Ajax performance was their fans who started shouting **** during the 1min silence.

Yeah, United have actually had a very good season in the end, which is just so unbelievably annoying.

Easy to point fingers and complain about the tactics Mourinho used in the final (and most of the season), but Ajax couldn't do a thing about it all game. Never even came close.

This has nothing to do with what I responded to though. Everyone -who doesn't think their ordinary build-up/short passing game is good enough to get out under pressure- can go and play long balls. It's not a tactical masterstroke, it's not something Ajax faced for the first time and thus failed to respond to.
Fellaini is much bigger than Schöne and only good at 1 thing reallty and so it didn't surprise me that he won a lot of headers, but if the rest of the Ajax team had been sharper this wouldn't have been problematic at all and even how things played out your amazing longballstrat didn't result in much danger.

While I obviously don't condone yelling during the minute of silence, that was only 1-2 guys and I don't see how it is relevant now.

It didn't result in much danger because we were poor on the ball but we still coulda scored 4. It might have been outside the box but Pogba was clearly fouled by Sanchez at one point as well right near the box.

Not all that sad about the loss, more disappointed that we played awful. If we played like we did the last few months but still got our asses kicked it - which was highly possible - it would have felt much better. Now we were just dead from the beginning.

Agreed. I mean you watch football to have fun. Here at Ajax most fans wanted to get rid of de Boer after he won 4 straight titles. So we might be a little extreme in this But still, I could never support that stuff.
