Gonna guess those fans probably wouldn't have been too fond of a takeover? Plus Paris being Paris obv

psg used to have great fans. they just couldnt be in the same space because the right wing fans behind one goal and left wing fans behind the other tried to kill one another when they had the chance.

It's difficult because kicking off at 5 is a terrible time during the week. If they could do it at 6.00 that'd be better. Then you can have the CL after.

Cut the competition down so there is the same amount of knock outs as the CL. Play the ties two weeks part and they are on to a decent competition.

Would love to draw either team. Basically anyone other than spuds and eastern european hellhole fc would be fine with me.

If you think Manchester City is finishing out of the top 4 than ok, but that wasn't your original post. You'd basically need a perfect storm for it to happen

1. Chelsea
2. Liverpool
3. Arsenal
4. Spurs
5. City
6. Utd

Manchester conquers Europe

Cliffs: It's not happening

I agree 6 GMT would be much better. No idea why they don't do it like that. They don't want overlap with 7:45 kick offs I suppose but it would be tiny.

UEFA for the most part don't want to have domestic games clashing with European games.

If they block up all the midweek slots with UCL/Europa, its going to effect a lot of domestic cups and leagues around Europe.

Though I did see Real Madrid play Valencia the other night while UCL was on, so who knows.

Kinda surprised an oil billionaire hasn't snatched up Hertha Berlin yet to make a run of it there.

Hertha has been getting money from an investor for the last two years IIRC. Once 50+1 is gone they'd sure be a big target altho the stadium will still be terrible, everyone moving to Berlin has a tram already, and all the Hipsters will continue to support Union

P$G were bought because of the club's potential.

Citeh were bought because of the club's infrastructure.

Does Hertha own their stadium?

I see your point, even though it's the wrong one. What Red Bull did was found their own club, not take over an existing one (and they (ab)used several loopholes to make it "legit" as a member association controlled club). So, while the 50+1 rule is most likely to fall within the next 10 - 20 years, it is still in effect. That way, if you were an arab billionaire and wanted a footy club in Berlin, as it stands right now, Hertha would not be an option for you.

You'd have to found your very own Allahu Akbar Berlin FC.

No, the (city-) state does

And what about SSV Markranstädt? Not sure why the rule should fall. I think other countries should be implementing it.

If I became a billionaire I'd be sorting football right out. One club at a time owned by members. Use influence to change rules.

I'd fix boxing while I am at it. Easy unification of all belts.

SSV Markranstädt were a no-name Nth league German football club. You can't just buy Hertha BSC's playing license like you can Markranstädt's.

50+1 will most likely fall because it's on very shaky grounds legally, as evidenced by the DFL (or DFB, I forget who's governing it) rushing to compromise and soften the rule any time a rich guy involved with a club threatens to go to court over it. At some point someone is gonna go all the way with a lawsuit or they're gonna continue to dismantle the rule step by step until it's de facto gone
