£16m of those add-ons are almost a foregone conclusion as he needs just another goal with Utd. and around 12 more caps with France. The other £8m is if he's nominated for a Ballon d'Or, and that one seems a bit more unlikely although that nomination list is usually 20-25 players long.

The main point though, is that Monaco hasn't done this by pouring obscene amounts of money into the club, but rather with shrewd signings of young players. They haven't spent more than £14m on a player since Summer '13, but obviously Rybolovlev coming into the picture and briefly splashing money around raised the profile of the club. They were in Ligue 2 just 5 seasons ago after all.

Marty's point is valid though. Pouring a ton of money in first makes it easier to do a Southampton later. Also considering how good they were 14 years ago it's not like this is some tiny club like Leicester doing this. Still impressive mind you.

Juventus whilst I don't like them at all have only won it twice in their history which is ridiculous. Wouldn't be too annoyed. Would prefer Athletico or Monaco tbh though.

Atletico - Juve final would be awful. Real - Monaco best possible outcome entertainment wise, but I'd rather not risk the ****s winning it again, so hoping for Atletico - Monaco.
