Why don't you worry about actually making the field of 68 before you start making predictions. Thanks.

Creighton with 4 of the top 55 and only 15th best price to win the natty?

If those guys are really gonna be that good then they'll have as good a shot as anyone. It's a pretty big improvement for all of them though, so I doubt it. Maybe 1 or 2 will be that good.

They haven't lost to a team with a 12 seed or better in the 20s despite being in the tourney every year. That's really good.

lol. knew you were going to reply w this. so predictable

i'll take the very rare MM miss plus a title game appearance and/or a chip every decade since the 50s

something tells me purdue fans would sell their souls for just one decade of such a stretch... for just a taste of what a F4 experience feels like

So far I’d say the Boiler landed a few hurtful blows but I’ll circle back later

lol i forgot Purdue was a #1 seed last MM (was thinking for some reason they were a #2 seed). so Virginia and Purdue then

UNC missed out on MM but had the same number of NCAAT wins as Purdue. chef's kiss

in all seriousness, if you're going to start a season-long OP and not put any thought, effort or creativity into it, you deserve to hear it when the only jpeg or gif is one of your players

- - - - - - - - - -

as for the ACC, always fun to follow the conference and see how many teams we place in the F4

i like the fact that UNC is in the background and not part of the national discussion. Hubert has done a sneaky good job of hitting the portal and putting together an interesting group of 8 ballers. ppl are going to be in awe of the brilliance of Cadeau. UNC is at its best when it has a PG that leaves spectators with their mouths agape

Kentucky looked pretty good tonight after a slow start. Injuries at center have forced Cal to go small ball with Tre Mitchell at center surrounded by four guards/wings. He drilled 4 threes and it really helped space the floor for all those talented guards and wings. Kentucky may take a while to figure it out since they're so young, but man they be special offensively come March

A lot of the press about UK's center position has been about Zvonimir Ivisic, mostly because he has had just a crazy ride to get over here and get eligible.

He is 19 on nbadraft.net

But Aaron Bradshaw is the 7 foot center that is 6 on NBADraft.net

Bradshaw is supposed to be the center and Z is supposed to be the project.

I know I doubted this team pre Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell, but they look to be perfect pieces

Yes if we do figure it out it will take a while, I might even bet against UK covering early on

Might want to grab some Tennessee futures. They are legit. Won't be 30/1 for long.

Correct. I watched the scrimage against a CAIA team, and yeah it's a CAIA team but the ball movement was noticeably different. There will be no Caleb fadeaways, or falling out of bounds shots from 3 with the game on the line this year.

Cadeau seems prone to picking up dumb fouls at this point bc he's so hyped out there, and playing every play tough as nails. He's got game for sure.

It was refreshing. Cadeau has some KM passing instincts in him.

Caleb will forever be etched into UNC history for ending K’s career, but I’m looking forward to watching basketball without him.

And he did what Purdue couldn’t do…….beat mighty Saint Peters.

Lol that was Purdue’s best team ever and they lost to Saint Peters, then followed it up next year with their 2nd best team ever and lost to mighty Farleigh Dickinson. If memory serves me correct it was in the 1st Round and they were a #1 seed. Imagine your best 2 year stretch in history ending with losses to those schools.

One thing is for sure with UNC and Hubert Davis. This is all his team of the players he didn't see a part of the future like Caleb, and all of his recruits and transfers.

Hubert allowed him, or didn't teach an offense that came up with anything more than 164 of Caleb's 253 jumpers to come off the dribble along with 61% of his shots guarded.

For 2 straight years under Hubert UNC has lost 10 games, and outside of a one month period everybody has questioned what the hell kind of offense is Hubert running and it looks like he's trying to showcase an NBA offense of guys playing like Steph Curry or Damian Lillard. March run happens and that all goes out the window. Last season happens it was right back to the same criticism of what is he teaching vs March 2022.

The Athletic wrote an article about Caleb at Arizona, and it made it out like he's learning offense, spacing, shot selection, and even shooting mechanics (Hubert is one of the best shooters in UNC history) that he never learned at UNC. If Hubert loses 10+ again this year then he's then I say he gets one more year with Ian Jackson, and Drake Powell coming in to show if he can do anything more with elite recruits. If not he needs to go.

Hopefully the 2023-2024 season will go much better though.

It's certainly time to put up or shut up for HD. This is 100% the team he has created at this point.

Caleb definitely has some woe is me in him. After watching him make decisions on the basketball court for 3 seasons (he sucked as a freshman with Roy too), I'm going to error on the side of him being the problem and not HD. If he couldn't self reflect on some of those poor shots, then I don't know what to tell him.

I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic, but I tend to feel like we are a bit underrated coming into this year. I really like the squad.

Me too. Ingram seems like a smart player that always will make the right decision and can bring the ball up in a key moment if the team is pressing late in a tight tourney game. I don't think he's much of a shooter from what I've seen, so it might just be another Leaky who looks like a linebacker with great wing span. Washington is still finding his way, but looks healthier and getting back to just playing basketball comfortably. Cormac Ryan seems like a much needed shooter in the starting 5 vs having last year be Caleb, RJ or bust as shooting options. RJ and Bacot are what they always have been and Cadeau will be about 6-8 ppg good through January and then will take off to better levels.

Bacot said all of the NIL stuff was a huge distraction last year, along with the #1 ranking and coming off the national title game. Antawn and Vince said that team wasn't hungry at all, and more worried about NIL than actually playing bball, and they thought bc they went to the national title game the year before they would somehow just coast back to it. Antawn saw them practice pre-season and didn't like what he saw at all. He told them it was them vs the alumni tomorrow. They all said "nah we got a game next week." and he was like wtf kind of love for bball and getting better is this? The 97-98 teams would play all day and all night during the summer. Shammond had a key to the Smith Center and would be shooting jumpers for hours until like 1 am. Last season's team appeared to do none of that.
