Agreed. It's getting pretty absurd, especially ones that don't even involve sports.
Much like fantasy sports, the drafts are very interesting to a core group of people and pretty pointless to eveyone else. Perfect for a subforum.

There are already a million drafts going on at the same time.

I'm all for a draft subforum for the simple reason that it'll be easier to find them on a page without looking too hard.

Another solution for finding a draft thread: Every draft thread could get a as symbol

Symbols are a good idea to find a thread quickly. That is I suppose until every thread has one.

Don't care one way or the other about a draft subforum, just that I have only participated in one and I was so tilted about people not realizing the greatness of Mark Eaton that it was detrimental to my health. Never again. So I'm one of those to whom drafts are just clutter. But obviously they're popular, even if it's by a narrower segment of users than the average thread.

You guys take every thing that is cool and just beat it into submission. Drafts are a net negative at this point.

I mean is an NBA draft mid season, a couple months after the last auction, and an hour after an NFL draft started (which gives a one week gap between the last NFL auction) really necessary? From a mod no less?

Well it's almost certainly overkill but they seem popular. Another thing is that I don't think people who don't participate ever open those threads, whereas in most others I suspect that there are a high percentage of lurkers, thus higher page views.

I am anti-stickies though unless absolutely necessary and I'm not feeling those two but whatever.

It is necessary and it's awesome. And Kobe wants it about a million times more than you do.

People just have no self control. One person makes a new draft and them bam, 5 new drafts. Then we have a lull and then it'll be way too many drafts at once again.

Also, drafts should have clearly ended with the posters draft but you all ruined that.

This is also one of the busiest times of the sports year and there is 50 stupid drafts going on.

How many drafts are running atm? Is the 2nd wrestling draft still going on?

What happened to the no more than 3 drafts at the same rule/post some time back?

Three were just started this week, plus all of these redrafts (another one was started today by our favorite film "insider").

Move them all to the fantasy subforum at this point. At least until you can control them. It's insane to have half the front page dedicated to this stuff when there is so much going on in the sports world.

That's imo overkill. Three really should be the maximum, two seems better to me.

seriously - this will become a much larger problem on saturday/sunday/monday

the drafts are popular - god knows why - but something has to give here, it's out of hand.

I think RJ should come out with strong support for drafts, that will really put Franchise 60 over the edge.

tbh, the good draft needs to die right now. I still have no idea why thats getting any press.

Secondly, even though I signed up for the NBA one I agree wholeheartedly with all the bitching. I didn't anticipate the NBA starting today either, so that caught me off guard.

My solution: Nuke all drafts right now and put a month moratorium on them. Start over slowly.

Starting a draft of a sport that is currently in season makes zero sense.

Some sand seems to have been misplaced in some vaginas ITT.

Is it really that big a deal?

I've probably learned more about sports/movies/animal combat and gotten to know more 2p2ers from the drafts than anything else in this forum. I don't really get why it's a big deal if most of the posters are clearly enjoying them.

It's the fact that all the draft threads are on the front page...and considering that many posters in SE don't participate in them...they are just in the way...A sub-forum would get them out of the way and also organize them all into one spot...that makes it easier for everyone

I agree with those who have issues with it. My intent with the "draft thread wait list" thread was to help manage it, but frankly I haven't had any time at all and didn't do a good job of managing it. I think more than 3 is really too much.
