america's physically similar in size to aus, without 90% of it being worthless wasteland, that means that there's more places where it's viably worth it to drive instead of fly. aus has like 5 relevant places and lol at trying to drive between them when flights are like $100
Yah this is generally true these days tbh, flights used to be really expensive 15 years ago though for some reason I've never understood.
East coast road trips are a thing, and there are still spots it's simplest to drive between, even 8 hour drives.
