Right, but it makes it funny to see a politician running on a "things were better when I was a child!" platform, especially as the demographic of people who were not rich and white in the 50s only grows and grows.

Christie (who I have not been a fan of until this storm) seems like the direction the republicans should go towards which means they'll prolly back some creationist from the south worried about gambling and drinking on Sundays.

If Republicans like the 50s so much, why don't they go back to 90% income tax?

Saw something where GWB had 40% of Latino vote in 2004 and Romney had 19%.

Good job good effort

Can we stfu about politicians already and discuss more important matters, like what the deal is with upcoming SE WW games? None are on the books or being planned as far as I know (?) and I have a mishmash I've been putting the finishing touches on designing that I'd like to mod at some point. I know most SE WW players are going to be in the upcoming NBA POG game, so maybe shortly after that? Would like a co-mod or two as well. The theme is based on the tv show 24, which a few people mentioned as an idea after The Wire mishmash. Anyways, thoughts?

Bush went from 80% of the non-African Muslim vote in 2000 to 4% in 2004

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Christie was poising himself for a run in 2016. I think he knew Romney was a losing ticket; he declined any interest in the VP nomination and then not only praised Obama's handling of Sandy, but declined to appear with Romney at an event a day or two before the election. I do think his response to Sandy and with Obama was genuine and was pretty impressed with the job he did around that, but the cynical part of me also thinks he knows he can't run for president in 2016 if there's a Republican incumbent.

Agree on all fronts. Romney losing was big time in his interests, as was Sandy in giving him more national exposure.

doing some research in 1913 the tax rate was 1% for all income under 450K (todays $), up to 7% for over 11M

then in 1917 we entered ww1 and all the taxes shot up and after the war was over government realized "holy **** we can make these people pay as much as we want" and theyve stayed up there ever since

He is referring to social values only. You are assuming social issues were the #1 deciding factor on which people voted. It is possible that some people disagreed with Republican social issues but agreed on economic policy and voted Republican.

Main problem is educating these "urban" students. Taxes were WAY lower in the 1800s.

Only thing I can think of as a bigger waste of money is drafting a "running" QB #1 overall.

Meh, if obama was around to run against bush it woulda been something similar. Obama crushes the minority support like no other ever has.
