I once worked in a restaurant that had a "stealing out of employee lockers" problem. They had cameras so they'd just rewind until they saw who went in the locker. Fired, call cops. Whole process took 5 minutes and was absolutely not a secret--they told everyone they hired about it and the cameras weren't even hidden or anything. 2-3 times per month.
I have no faith in your surmisement. Besides, my dog has a chip and she still does whatever she wants.
