What makes you think that? It looks like every girls track meet I've ever been to (the number is quite high, we had 4 teams and one track in high school, so we shared). The high jump is setup. There are clearly two sets of teams. One team actually used starting blocks. Seems like a meet to me.

I think it's a JV race that isn't for points.

Plus they clearly splice in footage from some other race at the beginning, she makes it over three hurdles in a row during the intro, something she didn't come close to during the race shown. Besides, who runs the hurdles in gym class anyways?

On a side note, after watching it again, the 38 second mark is clearly the high point. Not only does she give up and just skip a hurdle, the girl next to her makes it over the hurdle clean and then falls anyways. Simply marvelous.

With respect to concerts I have never been to a concert without a date. A close proximity to a concert that happened recently was Deadmau5 outdoors. I went with my GF but because the converted parking lot lacked facilities going to the bathroom took her a little under an hour. By the time she came back a 20-22 year old was trying to pick me up. Not sure how you would classify that since it was a concert like setting / situation but club music.
