I like it but I'll feel like such a douche navigating through all the subforums just to insult various teams and players.

Well, more of a douche.

I think the fantasy talk will increase and become more productive when people aren't afraid to make a thread on the main forum.

Good change.

If 2+2 would just sponsor Greear's own personal blog, I don't think any of this would be an issue.

so no one answered my question.... when is this starting? Even a "duh I dunno, we haven't figured that out yet"would have satisfied my curiosity.

As soon as the programmers get it set up. Mat confirmed it was in progress this morning.

sounds great to me...i think the team-thread page will be awesome...

at first, i thought it'd be strange to have all the different sports team-threads on 1 sub-forum would be wierd, but it'll ebb and flow with the seasons anyway..

Looks like I'm late to the party and my opinion won't change anything but..meh.

I guess this hurts it too, but I don't like any change like this to the forum. I don't get PMs like the mods do so I really don't know if there is a complaint against certain team threads drifting to oblivion and fantasy threads annoying people but the forum has run really well the whole time I've been here. The Team threads that do drift to the unknown tend to get bumped at important times and what not.

I'm not a fan of this at all.

Just a note on sub-forums in general... Michigan's Scout.com has pushed for a separate basketball forum hard for a couple years. They have experimented with a basketball forum twice and both times it didn't last for more than 2 months. It just kills traffic a lot, and takes away a lot from people who would otherwise contribute good things but are more casual fans. I, for one, will not search through a sub-forum to try to sift through Greear's personal blog that is the Tigers thread.

fantasy subforum is a good idea. thinking about it a bit more, i'm now not sure that i like the idea of filtering off team threads, but a trial would still be a good idea

Are you moving existing team threads to the new forum?

If the pointers get annoying they can be removed. They are set to expire in a day anyway.

lol, tried to move threads from this forum to this same forum and got:

After much intense calculation, it has been decided that your thread is already in the forum that you wish to move it to.

Deep Thought should be jealous.

are we going to get quicklinks to each of the subforums along the left hand side... quicklink tab?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to get a sidebar quicklink for subforums. I can see how some may find that news annoying.

I can't believe you went through with this idea despite the outcry against it. The extra clicks are just unnecessary. If I want to get from the Yankees thread to the MLB thread, I shouldn't have to go to two different places. This terrible idea needs to be scrapped ASAP.

RedSoxFan,

1. There was more support for it than "outcry against it". This is all documented in this very thread if you want to make a hard count. Count me as a "I'm in favor of it on a trial basis". And I hate change.

2. Unlike a pregnant woman, this is something that can be undone.

3. As others have mentioned, your being against the idea could be the single strongest argument in favor of it.

g-bebe, I'd like to see if there's a way to get it on the sidebar but I doubt it. Economics in the Politics (lol) forum seems to get a fair amount of traffic despite the extra click.

already hate it. i came to check an answer on a fantasy question and view post-victory messages in the Mets thread...took me about a brazillion clicks compared to normal.

There are plenty of others against it as well. I don't have time to make a hard count of support because I'm too busy trying to navigate through this never ending maze of forums and sub forums.

waaaaaa waaaaaa extra clicks, this is unfair. I am use to being an efficient lazy ass so these two extra clicks are taking up valuable time that I could be using doing other unproductive things! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
