How Halloween gets ranked anywhere near the top doesn't make much sense, there's no time off.

Also, holiday pros know how to parlay those mid-week holidays into as many days as possible. This year's Tuesday Christmas/New Year's means at bare minimum Mon-Tue. Taking Wednesday off too is better, and true pros take the whole Christmas week off, plus Mon-Tue the following week, thus making it an eleven day vacation.

I still think of Calvin Johnson before Chris Johnson when I see "CJ2K" due to Calvin's promise to top 2,000 yards this season (LOL at that). I need to fix this preconception as it makes me very confused on more than one occasion.

Halloween parties are mega elite.

Now that I'm out of college its plummeting down the rankings though.

You can pretty much guess at how old someone is based on how they rank Halloween as a holiday. Fairly sure a social college student's "holiday" rankings are:

1. Spring Break
2. Halloween
3. St. Patricks Day
4. Cinco De Mayo

Also its been just over a year since this has last been discussed:

FWIW, I lived in the bay area for the first 18 1/2 yrs of my life, 5 years in sf specifically, but I do go to the University of Minnesota.

anyway, I was just joking around, thought it was obvious that i dont actually hate canada given I like hockey quite a bit.

Halloween is still elite if you get out and actually do something. If you stay home and pass out candy it obviously sucks ass.

If St. Patrick's Day falls on a Thursday-Saturday when March Madness starts, it's the GOAT holiday. Xmas Eve and Day are 2nd, Memorial Day also is pretty great, only b/c there's really no other paid holidays near it, and the weather's warming up, and you find a place to drink outside on a Sunday and you got the sundresses out and about.

Memorial Day and Labor Day are being underrated, imo. Only obligation is to get drunk and no family etiquette restrictions. Pros leave take off thursday while suckers are wasting days off around xmas and new years.

I don't count it as a holiday unless I get a day off.

Christmas is the best just because of tradition/family/gifts. I just love so many of the rituals that are part of it.

Thanksgiving usually means tolerating family friends/relatives that I don't like- I get less of that at xmas.

After those two I really don't care. Probably sounds horrible- but my birthday is in a sense my 3rd favorite holiday.

Halloween is slightly different because of costumes, but **** like Cinco de Mayo, St Patrick's is just amateur night at the bar. If you need an excuse to go out and have fun, that's dumb. More idiots who don't know how to act and will use the night to act worse is not cool imo.
