I'm a little disappointed in my fellow mods for shutting down the survivor thread while I was out, but gotta do what you gotta do. I certainly don't think TUT should feel any obligation to self ban based on what the vote count was less than an hour into what was a 4-5 day contest. As we've seen from prior incarnations there can be massive opinion shifts over the course of the full competition.

I noticed I took some heat in the survivor thread for starting it, which I think is either irrational or perhaps just trolling. TUT and F60 both freely chose to enter the competition despite my encouragement that they work things out and get along, and they agreed to all terms of the competition. This being the case, there's no reason for me to protect them from themselves, they're not children. Stopping one of these things once they've started is pretty lame imo. It was lame when I did it with the GREEAR/MT2R one, and it was lame this time. It may have a positive long term impact that it was stopped, but quite frankly the two posters involved are likely involved due to the fact that they've both degraded their posting in the forum into a more trolling style recently.

yeah i paid $300 for nbatv and watched 400+ games and posted 25000 times to become as popular as possible in SE...it had nothing to do with liking sports...great read doyle

On the TUT/EWS topic, I don't believe there's any reason to continue any public hate on him for this. He owns up to what happened 100% of the time it is even hinted at. What he did at the time was obviously stupid and wrong, but he made good on it, and I'm sure every poster on this forum at some point has done something stupid and wrong that they aren't proud of. I respect those who are able to own up to their mistakes, make good on them, and not repeat them. Forgiveness is a good thing.
