Buncha perverts at google. That must have been embarrassing when they ran that idea by the female VP of that department.

eh, it has uses other than porn. i do all of the stuff with movies/tv shows i can't talk about on here via the incognito tab. it is also useful for circumventing 2+2 bans for lurking purposes.

all it does is not save a history or store cookies which you can do in regular chrome if you want

not sure how it affects bans

An incognito tab does almost nothing to protect you while downloading movies either, route that through a proxy if you're that worried

yea, i realize now it doesn't do much for the downloading stuff except keep it out of the search history/cookies. so perhaps that is just overkill on my part.

it affects bans because when i come to 2+2 in chrome i am already logged in. when i come to 2+2 while banned (and what makes this sad is that they are always self-bans) it takes me straight to the screen that says i can't access the forum. i haven't figured out how to go from that screen to logging out of the account (nor do i think it can happen) so the ban is super-effective for me as a chrome user. however if i open up 2p2 in an incognito tab i am not logged in and can just lurk away. also a hearty +1 at liking the little spy guy.

yea that would be good if i actually wanted to log out but i would never remember my password because it is just some long character string i randomly entered by banging on the keyboard post-hack.

eta: it is extremely likely i am doing it wrong tho because i am not very computer savvy

I actually use it a lot at work if I need to log into the same resource at with different IDs. Very useful for that.

command + tab cycles through active programs

command + ` (backtick, right above the tab key) cycles between different windows of the same program

Was out with my friend and some of his co-workers last night. When it came up that my friend and I grew up together, one of his co-workers made the usual "oh so what secrets can you tell us about him!?" joke that everyone always makes in that situation.

I reply, "Oh other than the fact that he's secretly a fascist who wants to take over the world?"

And my friend interjects, "Yeah apparently I'm down with the Third Reich. Hahaha that was probably too much I'm obviously not down with the Third Reich!" and everyone laughed.

And one guy who is like freshly graduated from college, just started working there and is Jewish went around telling everyone the rest of the night how offended he was by my friend's anti-Semitic comments and how he really thinks he should apologize.

One of the girls told me that and said maybe I should tell my friend. I was like LOLWAT.

Let me add I just met these people.

This is like kinda bragging about your expertise in the prison cigarette economy. Useful if you need it, but it's not anything I really want to have to learn.

Same, learning how to navigate banned screens on the interwebz totally shatters the professional image I like to project in real life.
