Yeah I think that's his preferred position too, although I don't watch enough of Bayern to know for sure. I think Bernat has been their #1 LB this season though.

Danilo to Real Madrid is official http://web3.cmvm.pt/sdi2004/emitentes/docs/FR54631.pdf

31.500.000€ is pretty steep for a guy with one year left on his contract. I thought the left back was supposed the be the better of them anyway.

Danilo plays RB. Told you it was done a month ago.

Coentrao said he would be honoured to play for United, but he wants to have more chances at Real Madrid, since he has 4 year left on his contract, meanwhile Gaya rejected the first offer from Valencia to renew his contract. Apparently they want him to have a release clause of 80m euro. It won't be easy to sign him, RM always had problems when they wanted a player from Valencia.

Porto have made over £600m in player sales in the last 11 years.

Yeah, at least they picked the right day to announce it
Don't like it either as so. who supports a 2. Bundesliga side.

Will be interesting to see if Selke could be another lower-tier player to join the national team next season. We're not exactly stacked up there atm.

Why? More money early is worth a lot more than more money late.

should have said it better- I don't blame the kid for going there, I just hate the circumstances, the way they are right now, that make it a sensible choice to go from werder to a second divion club. And it's only gonna get worse

The question is how much of that transfer money actually go to Porto? Probably not a lot but they have succeeded in almost never having a bad team.

Interestingly this season two of their most valuable starters are there on loan, Casemiro and Torres (Tello also for that matter) but with Alex Sandro and Herrera they still have players who should command the usual enormous fees the next windows.

Jackson Martinez also of course though it's possible his value has topped and I think they'll be desperate to sell him this window.

how good has Oliver Torres been?

he looked great at one of the youth championships and scored a great goal in one of the Atletico games I watched, but he just seemed to lack a little at the time.

I have usually had Alex Sandro>Danilo while acknowleding that Danilo was the more complete fullback. Alex Sandro has just had a lot more to offer attacking but maybe there is some buyer-skepticism if that will be something elite in better leagues, and if not is he then flawed and really worth the gigantic asking price. Danilo is more the safe complete fullback package, who also at this moment is putting it all together.

For Real Madrid, I also seriously rate Carvajal, and while Madrid certainly needed a better alternative to him, this will be some luxury not too dissimilar to back when Coentrao joined Marcelo on the left.

I think he's been very impressive in the Champions League this season. I think it also helps that Lopetegui who has had him on the Spain youth teams is the coach and he is playing a much bigger role than I thought he would already.

His technique is fantastic in the small spaces and I would compare what he does there to the young-Isco. Really difficult things but I also think that he is faster than Isco with the ball. More dynamic on the first meters. His anticipation and the ensuing first touches and turns (both ways crucially) are of the highest level.

I can't say if he is also a quality playmaker for others yet. Or the more mature quality team player on the ball that Isco has now become but he is certainly a talented passer though and great participant in quick combinations, so the potential is definitely there.

It's hard to see him fit in at Atletico though. Porto plays a style that encourages attacking and risk-taking where he fits right in.

I suppose he could bring some of the things Diego did during his spell there but I don't think he is in that place yet and still make too mistakes and in general just very un-atletico things for Simeone to trust him.

I could see it happening but yeah it's very early. He is very good though, there are even playmaker elements to his left-back play which not that many have other than Marcelo of course.

Mendes plays a big influence getting players to Valencia and who knows what else. He is Coentrao's agent of course, is he Gaya's also? I'm guessing some people have percentages of him anyway.

Selke and Morata are the two strikers that come to mind when I think of tall strikers with very good acceleration. Including with the ball.

A rare breed making them both very intriguing.

I'd be interested to know how the bidding for Selke went/who was interested. He def. should have been on the list of a lot of clubs. I wouldn't have minded if we'd shown some interest if the plan is to sell Immobile anyways (which has been denied by his agent recently).
